Teeter's Telescopes Production Log, 2002-Present

Product Line Legend

Over the years we've had several different product lines which have encompassed a wide variety of apertures and focal lengths. Below is a summary with descriptions:

Prototype = Our first Truss-Dobsonian Builds, which included a 12.5" f/5.5 (the true prototype) and a 20" f/5 to prove we could handle larger apertures;

Planet-Killer = Our original production line featuring medium apertures and long focal lengths. However, some faster scopes were also designated as "Planet-Killers" if the scope was originally designed with ultra-high-quality primary and secondary mirrors;

Truss Conversion = A complimentary production line to the Planet-Killers allowing customers to supply their own optics and other major components from commercial and home-built solid tube Dobsonians;

TT/Custom = A line of lower priced, bare-bones, scopes offered exclusively through the former J&T Telescope Company. Scopes were offered "a la carte" where customers could pick and choose their own components to best suit their budget. This line was resurrected in 2010 to encompass a range of apertures and focal lengths not expressly designated in other product lines;

TT/4.5 = A production line featuring larger apertures and F/4.5 focal ratios to compliment our Planet-Killer line;

Ultra-Limited-Edition = A production line debuting in April, 2008 and ceasing in late 2010. The name of this line denoted a scaled down production volume from previous years. However, once production increased to volume similar to previous years, this name was not applicable and was retired.

TT/Classic = A production line featuring the more popular or "classic" aperture and focal length combinations like 12.5" F/5, 15" F/4.5, and 18" F/4.5.

TT/Sub4 = A production line featuring large apertures (16" and greater) with focal ratios below F/4.

TT/STS = A production line referred to our Solid Tube Series or "STS" for short. This line features two scopes with standard focal lengths (8" F/5.7 and 11" F/4.5) which are built in solid aluminum tubes, as opposed to our other product lines which are all Truss-Dobsonians.

All the joints are perfect, the finish is still excellent, it holds collimation well, and the motions are smooth and predictable. It's just a beautifully built, robust, high quality instrument."
