Above:
Lenape Lodge is within walking distance of the main observing
field and is fully insulated and heated and offers flush-toilets.
Or you may opt to bring your own tow-behind camper or even "tent
it" right on the field. Images courtesy of the NJ
School of Conservation and NJNightSky.com,
respectively.
One
of the many features of the Stokes Star Party that make it appealing
to a wide range of amateur astronomers are the on-site accomodations.
Located adjacent to the observing field is Lenape Lodge with
nearly 80 bunkbeds and two bathrooms. This is plenty of space
for even our largest gatherings for everyone to spread out and
claim their own sleeping space. Even on the coldest nights,
the lodge is toasty and warm making for a very relaxing end
to the observing night. Note: You will want to bring pillows
and either sheets/blankets or sleeping bags, as the bunk beds
are spartan.
Or,
you may as other observers prefer, camp-out in your tow-behind
camper or Motor Home or even put up your tent right on the observing
field next to your equipment. We ask that those with large(r)
rigs, such as Motor Homes, please park off to the side of the
observing field to allow ample room for all telescopes to be
set up on the field.
Separate
men's and women's bathhouses are available to everyone, also
located immediately adjacent to the observing field. Please
bring your own soap, shampoo and towels.
