Tri-Stain Altitude Bearings (See
below for pricing):
Give
your new Teeter's Telescope a little spice! Employing all three of our
standard stain colors (Natural, Colonial Maple and Cherry), we have created
a stunning display in contrast and craftsmanship to accent your scope.
Hours of painstaking masking, staining, remasking, staining, remasking,
and so on, are put into each of these handcrafted bearings. Each is sealed
with our Ultra-Gloss clear-coat and uses Ebony Star like our standard
uni-color bearings. Shown is our ever-popular "SunBurst" design,
encorporating Natural stain for the Sun, Maple stain for the flames and
flares and then our deep Cherry stain as the background. Other designs
can be substituted, at the request of a customer who may supply their
own artwork. Please inquire about custom designs before placing order.
Bearing Pair for our 10" (17.25" diameter) scopes;
$85.00
Bearing Pair for our 12.5" and 15" (19.5"
diameter) scopes; $105.00
Bearing Pair for our 18" and 20" (26" diameter)
scopes; $135.00
Multi-Stain Upper Tube Assembly Rings (See
below for pricing):
What started as an application to our altitude bearings
has now migrated to the top rings of our Upper Tube Assembly's (UTA's).
A deep Cherry stain lays the background for the ring, while the contrasting
Maple stain makes up the flames/flares that encircle the entire circumference.
The same amount of detail including masking, staining, remasking, staining,
etc. etc. go into each Multi-Stain UTA Ring. Each is then finished with
our signature Ultra-Gloss clear-coat finish for years of protection from
moisture and Ultra-Violet fading.
UTA
Ring for 10" scopes; $45.00
UTA Ring for 12.5" scopes;
$55.00
UTA Ring for 15" scopes; $65.00
UTA Ring for 18" Planet-Killer scopes; $85.00
UTA Ring for 20" Planet-Killer scopes; $95.00
ProtoStar Secondary Heater ($50.00):
A necessity
in areas prone to dewy conditions to ensure a full night's worth of observing.
Two of the vanes act as conductors to bring power to the unit, which eliminates
running "doll-house wire" along the spider vane. ProtoStar ensures
that you get the least diffraction possible.
Powered by an optional 12-volt power supply (see below). An 1/8"
mono-plug RCA jack is used to connect power.
ServoCat GoTo Tracking System (see
below for pricing):
These
systems are complete electronic control packages. They allow the control
of your Teeter's Telescope using the Sky Commander (REQUIRED ADD-ON, pricing
below) as the reference. By control we mean the ability to track or automatically
follow the sky, slew (move) around at various speeds selectable by the
user, and GO TO an object selected by the user. According to the manufacturer,
"Silent operation is the name of the game. The CAT stalks the night
sky like a leopard on the prowl!" These systems are fast becoming
a "gotta have upgrade," allowing users to track objects at extremely
high magnifications (50x to 60x per inch of aperture), perfect for pushing
your new premium primary mirror.
10" - 15" scopes; $1950.00
(including install and test)
18" and 20" scopes; $2200.00
(including install and test)
SkyCommander Digital Setting Circles ($450.00):
Long considered to be the leader in the industry for computerizing
Dobsonian telescopes, the SkyCommander allows users to find any of 9,000+
objects by doing a simple two star alignment at the beginning of the observing
night. Move the scope until the SkyCommander reads all "zeros"
and you are on the object! Unit also includes an internal heater when
used in 12-volt mode to gently warm the LCD display during nights of extreme
low temperatures.
Price includes everything needed to use the digital setting circles (computer,
4000-step encoders, wiring, instruction) along with testing and certification
by our staff that the unit is functioning as best as possible.
Hardware Kit for SkyCommander Digital Setting Circles ($55.00):
Includes installation of mounting hardware for both altitude and azimuth
axis encoders. If you already have a SkyCommander unit, you will want
to order this kit or if you are ordering the SkyCommander unit above you
will also want to add this to your order.
12-volt Sealed Lead-Acid Rechargable Power Supply ($75.00):
Includes a single 12.0-volt 7Ah (amp-hour) battery, 1/8" mono-plug
RCA jack with alligator clips that connects to the battery and a 1-amp
float charger needed to charge the battery after use. This power supply
will run our boundary layer cooling fans, secondary dew heaters and digital
setting circles for two nights (approx. 6 hours/night) before requiring
recharge.
Need more power? Running a drive system, dew heaters, digital setting
circles, a lap-top, etc.? Purchase our Dual Battery Package for $100.00,
including everything listed above, but with two (2) 12.0-volt 7Ah batteries.
Eyepiece Racks ($18.00/ea):
Have
the ultimate in convience when you designate that you would like your
eyepiece rack mounted on the Upper Tube Assembly (UTA) of your Planet-Killer
or Truss Conversion. Ideal for those observers who use short focal length
Orthoscopic and Plossl eyepieces, as they will not affect balance as larger
widefield oculars will. This set-up is conducive for quick changes of
magnification or switching back and forth between two or three oculars
during comparison. Tight tolerances while milling out the slots for the
eyepieces to fit into ensure they will NEVER slide out on their own.

Far Point Laser Collimator
($155.00):
Each collimator is designed, constructed, anodized, and tested in the
US by Far Point Astronomical Research (Gold River, CA).
Each collimator is also guaranteed for life! We use our own Far Point
collimator to put the finishing touches on our collimation when we take
our person Teeter's Telescopes out into the field. We highly recommend
these finely machined work-horses. After you receive shipment of your
Teeter's Telescope, this should be the only collimation tool you'll ever
need!
