A hearty Thank You goes out to our great customers we've interacted with since 2002. Your support meant the world, allowing us to design and build telescopes, travel to deliver those telescopes, and market our wares at various Star Parties. It was a great run! But it was time for a change to rebalance the work-life schedule. Further, 2020 proved to be very hard on our supply chain. Various suppliers retired, various components were discontinued, prices increased dramatically and the production of our telescopes became more and more difficult. We had to redesign and modify and in the end it was decided we needed to go in a different direction. That's why at this time we have ceased accepting new orders and will be taking an indefinite break from commercial telescope making. We have sold all of our remaining inventory, exhausted our raw material supply, and now aim to finish all standing orders by early 2024.
After-Sales Service & Support Still Available
For those that have a TeeterScope telescope and need service/support, we are still here for you! The TeeterScope workshop is still active and we are still available via phone, Email and in person. Just because we are no longer building new telescopes doesn't mean we've left the industry completely. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require assistance with an existing TeeterScope, whether you are the original owner, second owner, third, etc.
Please note, so we may cover the time necessary to provide such support, we are instituting a new policy in October, 2023, that phases out our "no cost" service and support. We love our customers and love the telescopes we build, but we've previously been accommodating of service/support requests to a fault. With 300+ telescopes in circulation around the world we have spent far more time on the phone and via Email providing support at no cost that it has begun competing with our paying work, along with our home life and family time.
My desire to help has not wavered, but we must now be paid for this support we provide. Moving forward, if you need support and/or service of your TeeterScope we will be charging our standard shop rate of $75/hour, whether it is phone support, Email or in person. We greatly appreciate your understanding in this manner. This applies to original owners and second, third, etc., generation owners alike.
